Athenry FC Archives 2009 Athenry FC had another excellent season with 3 of our teams reaching cup finals. A fourth team completed in the Connacht provincial championship in the under 11 Danone cup. Athenry under age blitz Christmas 2009 as Santa arrives to present prizes. Photos1 We have just held our under 6 to 12 end of season Blitz. This was attended by over 300 adults and kids. Despite the weather a great day was had by all. The Club also ran a Juvenile awards nights in May. Awards Night 24/05/09: Photos1 Photos2 Our senior team compete in the Connacht cup against Wesport in Castlebar where they are very unlucky to lose 2-1 after extra time. Connacht Senior Cup The under 11's compete in the Danone cup. U11 Danone Cup The under 15's unlucky to lose narrowly to Oughterard in Terryland. U15 Cup Final The under 12's unlucky to lose narrowly to Ramblers in Terryland. U12 Cup Final Athenry Seniors were very unlucky to lose to holder Carrick on penalties in last 16. Athenry FC held an open day in Moanbaun to promote the club. Some of our coaches and players coahed the under 6 to 10 year olds. The club history and new website were on display in the club house. Over 300 adults and kids attended. Thanks to all players coaches, players and managers for their co-operation.
